Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, South Africa

There are few places in the world that can offer the variety of beauty that Cape Town can provide.  As a city, itself, central Cape Town can be enjoyed in just a couple of days time – the food is excellent, the bars are great and the scenery and people are highly enjoyable.  But the greater Cape Peninsula can absorb months of your time if you tried to find everything that is wonderful about this place.

I won’t ignore it – there is an ugly historical backdrop to most of what you see here, as well as throughout most of South Africa. I highly recommend that everyone takes at least a day with someone knowledgeable to learn about the good and the bad (hint: try Rob at Cape Convoy Tours).  Nonetheless, the modern Cape should be put on every traveler’s list.

Every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything…

My only personal encounter with him came in the form of a brief email earlier this year.

You certainly can’t disagree with the people who call him an innovator, a genius, a modern-day Thomas Edison and everything in between.

But he was also, without a doubt, the greatest salesman of our time.  Somehow he convinced close to 100 million people to buy a product that none of them needed and most of them couldn’t afford:

I still get excited when I watch that video.

Thanks, Steve.
